AhlulBayt News Agency: Senior Iranian cleric Ayatollah Javad Marvi has strongly condemned what he described as “insulting and reckless remarks” by Donald Trump against the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, saying such rhetoric reflects political irrationality and a failure to grasp Iran’s unique position.

Speaking at the conclusion of his advanced jurisprudence class on Wednesday, coinciding with the beginning of the holy month of Sha’ban, Ayatollah Marvi—Deputy Secretary-General of Iran’s Supreme Council of Seminaries—addressed both spiritual themes and recent political developments.

He first emphasized the centrality of spirituality in religious life, particularly during the sacred months, warning seminary students against becoming absorbed in technical terminology at the expense of self-purification. Quoting extensively from Imam Khomeini, Ayatollah Marvi cautioned that religious knowledge which leads to arrogance rather than humility “is nothing but the remnants of Satan,” stressing that true religious learning must deepen one’s moral and spiritual state.

Turning to current affairs, Ayatollah Marvi sharply criticized President Trump’s recent remarks directed at the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, describing them as a clear sign of political frustration and jealousy.

“Such outbursts are not new,” he said. “They stem from an awareness—conscious or not—of the global stature of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution today.”

Ayatollah Marvi noted that the Leader’s influence is not confined to Iran or even the Muslim world. “Across the globe, among freedom-seekers, fair-minded individuals, and even adversaries, there is an acknowledgment that today the main front of resistance against oppressive powers is led by this son of Fatima (peace be upon her),” he said, referring to the Prophet Muhammad’s daughter.

He highlighted what he called the strength of Iran’s political system, quoting a prominent Arab political figure who once remarked: “Iran stands firm because it has guardianship of the jurist, while we suffer because we have wilayah of the foolish.” According to Ayatollah Marvi, this observation captures the essence of Iran’s resilience and leadership.

Describing Trump’s language as irresponsible, Ayatollah Marvi said such rhetoric is ultimately ineffective. “This kind of behavior neither frightens Iran nor changes realities,” he said. “Iran is not Venezuela, and the position of Iran’s Leader is not one that can be targeted through insults or threats.”

He added that there are still “rational individuals” within the United States who should make this reality clear to Trump, warning that disrespect toward Iran’s leadership has broader consequences for global stability.

Ayatollah Marvi concluded by reaffirming confidence in the future of the Islamic Republic, expressing hope that under divine guidance and steadfast leadership, Iran’s Islamic Revolution will continue on its path toward its declared goals.
